What is NFC ?
Imagine using you phone in the same way you use some of your Smart Cards like your
credit cards and membership passes, where you touch and go. Today Smart cards based
upon RFID technology give users capabilities such as credit cards and Loyalty cards
and travel cards.
A new generation of Mobile Phones called Near Field Communication ( NFC ) mobile
phones give you this capability as they have this type of technology built into
the phone.
With NFC phones the phone acts as a Smart Card or a Smart Card reader which means
the phone can be touched against a NFC Card or NFC Tag and receive information.
This information will enable the phone to visit mobile internet sites, send messages
or other information just by tapping the phone against a NFC Card.
How it Works
NFC is based upon Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) which is a few centimetres
in range.
NFC Phones can read discrete amounts of information or data from RFID shortcut tags,
and also communicate with other NFC Phones. So if a user touches their phone against
a RFID Tag, the service shortcuts inside the tag is made available to the handset.
RFID or NFC Tags can be contained anywhere are they are extremely thin and small
units of equipment. They can be embedded in posters, enabling ‘Smart Poster Functionality’
which is essentially a poster which can transfer information to an NFC Phone.
How much does the solution cost
This will depend upon the functionality you require and the number of users deployed
on the system. We envisage to beat the cost of any vendor with a similar offering.
What’s unique about Sero Solutions
We have some patented technology implemented
as NFC adaptors which is used in the healthcare domain. Our technology gives different
devices the capability to electronically transfer healthcare related information
into a central repository which can be integrated into other external systems.
How do you integrate into existing systems
We can integrate the data collected in our
systems into third party systems by exposing specific API which our customers can
subscribe to. In this way our customers can integrate the information from our NFC
solutions into their existing IT systems
